The newly formed Alabaster Downtown Redevelopment Authority is seeking applicants for its facade grant program. The program is open to businesses within a 3-mile radius of the future recreation center (corner of SR-119 and Thompson Road) on Highway 119, and helps cover the costs of renovating/beautifying existing businesses in the city

General Duties, Purpose and Powers

The Alabaster Downtown Redevelopment Authority is focused on the development and revitalization of the downtown area of Alabaster. Its purposes shall be to provide for the redevelopment and rehabilitation of areas of the City of Alabaster utilizing all authority granted to it by Chapter 54A of Title 11 of the Code of Alabama (1975) - (Ala. Code §§11-54A-1, et seq)

Statutory Authority

Pursuant to Ala. Code § 11-54A-7, the Alabaster Downtown Redevelopment Board is comprised of five (5) regular members duly appointed by the City Council of the City of Alabaster, serving staggered terms and, once the initial term is completed each place will serve a full six-year term.
