* Paid members of the Friends, and those wishing to join/renew, are invited to shop with us on April 30th 5-7 pm. Others are invited for all other dates.

** Saturday, May 8, is the day to “Stuff a Sack” for $6.00.



The Alabaster City Library was built in 1983 on land donated by one of the city's founding families. A Library Board that is appointed by the Alabaster City Council supervises the Library.

Access your library account online or call the automated renewal line at 205-669-3928.

*Due to Covid 19 protocals, returned books will be quarantined for 3 days before they are checked in for patron and employee safety.  If you have returned items, please disregard any late notices you receive. We will waive any accrued fines.



Weekly Story Times


  • Outreach Story Time (at local daycare centers): Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.
  • Sensory Story Time: second and fourth Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.
  • Toddler Tales: Fridays at 10:30 a.m. in the Library Meeting Room
