Sensory Friends Story Time - 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 3:30 pm
Welcome families with special needs. This story time includes music, stories, and movement for kids through young adults with autism, sensory processing, or other developmental needs. Register here.

Intergalactic family fun! Activities include: Creation Station, Lego® Station, and a skit by our Shelby 4H Drama Club. Wear a costume if you like or receive a free Star Wars mask while supplies last. All kids must be with an adult. Register here.
Adults and students in middle school and high school are invited to meet author Lisa McNair a sister of one of the four girls killed in the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963. She has written a book, Dear Denise: Letters to the Sister I Never Knew. She’ll give a talk, there will be Q & A, books for purchase, and light refreshments. Register here.

¡Programa especial para padres en Español! Unidos Leemos es un taller diseñado por El Consejo de Alfabetización para padres de habla hispana con niños. Los padres escucharán a un experto explicar, en español, la importancia de leer a sus hijos en su lengua materna. Los padres estudiarán un libro infantil en español/inglés en el taller que podrán conservar para llevar a casa.El Consejo de Alfabetización apoya la alfabetización en el primer idioma como el camino hacia la alfabetización en inglés para nuestra comunidad. Unidos Leemos fortalecería la alfabetización en el primer idioma para padres e hijos, y alentaría a los padres a buscar más oportunidades de aprendizaje de inglés para hablantes de otros idiomas (ESOL).
