Scott served three terms on the City Council, representing Ward 6. The City Council elected him as Council President in November 2012 and 2016. Scott was elected Mayor of Alabaster in 2020.
Scott has lived in Alabaster for 40 years and attended Thompson elementary, middle and high, graduating in 1993. He then graduated with a degree in education from the University of Montevallo in 1998 and taught physical education and coached wrestling and football at Simmons Middle School from 98-2000. In 2000 he began a career in the healthcare industry selling pharmaceuticals. He was promoted to District Sales Manager and worked in this role for 12 years. He currently sells pathology services to Dermatologists.
He has been married to Michelle Kent Brakefield for 23 years and has three sons, Noah who is 20 and twin 15 year-olds Shep and Wynn.
