Biography
Scott served three terms on the City Council, representing Ward 6. The City Council elected him as Council President in November 2012 and 2016. Scott was first elected Mayor of Alabaster in 2020 and he was re-elected to a second term in November 2025.
Education & Experience
Scott has lived in Alabaster for over 40 years and attended Thompson elementary, middle and high, graduating in 1993. He then graduated with a degree in education from the University of Montevallo in 1998 and taught physical education and coached wrestling and football at Simmons Middle School from 1998-2000. In 2000 he began a career in the healthcare industry selling pharmaceuticals. He was promoted to District Sales Manager and worked in this role for 16 years. He currently sells pathology services to Dermatologists.
Family
He has been married to Michelle Kent Brakefield for 28 years and has three sons, Noah who is 25 and twin 20 year-olds Shep and Wynn.
