Today, Dr Scott Harris, Al Dept of Public Health, extended precautionary restrictions across the whole state, and stressed the importance of everyone’s compliance. According to Dr Harris, the current restrictions can be effective if the people will be diligent in their efforts to comply. To aid the State, and hopefully prevent more extreme measures being imposed, the City is closing all pavilions, playgrounds & equipment, basketball courts, & bathrooms located at all city parks. At this time, we will continue to allow the use of walking trails and green spaces for the mental health & physical well-being of our residents. This is effective immediately. Please follow directives handed down from the Dept of Public Health regarding physical distance of at least 6 ft.These are serious times for all of us. It is important for all of us to do our part, in order to not overwhelm or exhaust our medical resources.Remember—Protect yourselves and others by practicing physical distancing.Thank you,Marty Brown Handlon
