Library

The Alabaster City Library was built in 1983 on land donated by one of the city's founding families. A Library Board that is appointed by the Alabaster City Council supervises the Library. 
 
 

 

Services


The Library has a yearly circulation of approximately 150,000 items, which include:
  • Audio books
  • Books
  • DVDs
  • E-audio books
  • E-books
  • Music CDs
Internet access is also available through the library, and almost 300 programs are offered through the library throughout the year.

Access your library account online or call the automated renewal line at 205-669-3928.

Please note that we do not renew items by direct calls to the library desk.

Weekly Story Times


  • Outreach Story Time (at local daycare centers): Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.
  • Tunes and Tales: Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in Library Meeting Room
  • Toddler Tales: Fridays at 10:30 a.m. in the Library Meeting Room

Mission Statement


The mission of the Albert L. Scott Library is to provide excellent library and information resources and services to all the citizens of Alabaster. These resources and services should help city residents obtain information to meet their cultural, educational, recreational and professional needs now and in the future.
